Meet our bikini queen Marijana! She’s a WBFF Bikini Pro, fitness model, scuba diver and underwater photographer.
Marijana was once a cross country runner but after some time her knees couldn’t take any more pavement pounding, so she turned to weight training to help strengthen them. Here she found a new love for training and she liked how her body looked from lifting weights compared to when she was running long distance.
She recently won her Pro card at the WBFF Australia in 2016 and is now preparing to make her Pro debut at the WBFF Worlds in London 2017.
Q & A with Marijana
What has been your biggest challenge in your career so far?
Overcoming my self-consciousness and fear of being on stage. For me, it took a lot of courage to get on stage for the first time.
How important is nutrition to you and how do you manage it?
My nutrition is more important and relevant to me than my training. I count my macros, I ensure I have the right amount of protein during the day and take my supplements at the right time.
Without proper nutrition, a lot of the effort I put into my weights and cardio sessions would be diminished.
For me, training and nutrition go hand in hand.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
The owner of one WBFF crown, a positive influence for women in fitness and nutrition. I have an inquisitive mind and am always reading and learning about nutrition so in 5 years I would have a nutritional certification or degree under my belt.
What is your ultimate cheat meal?
Hurricanes BBQ Pork Ribs!
